EMPIRE PIZZA CAFÉ HISTORY

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In 1994, Relentless Pizza Corp. delivered from construction to creation to operation, La Piazza Italian Ristorante & Cafe, in Plantation, Florida. From its inception to its sale (May of 2000), La Piazza earned the following awards: “Best Pizza of West Broward County” from the Sun-Sentinel, “Advantageous & Favorable Food Critique and Review” from the Miami Herald, “Four Stars for Food, Service and Atmosphere” from the Broward Business Daily and “Five Star Restaurant of Choice” from the Single Gourmet. La Piazza, an independent, family owned restaurant, was known not only for its fine dining but for its impeccable take-out and delivery service as well.

In 1998, Times Square Pizza was created by the same family members of La Piazza. The first Times Square Pizza opened in Coral Springs, Florida. Shortly thereafter, another Times Square Pizza opened in Boca Raton, Florida. Times Square Pizza, offering the same quality food, service and atmosphere as its affiliate, La Piazza, prided itself primarily on its take-out and delivery business. There was on premise dining as well but, without wait service. A shortened version of La Piazza’s menu was created to accomplish efficiency and excellence.

La Piazza and Times Square Pizza, individually and as a group, have participated as a regular attendee of the “Creative Cooking Expo” at the Fashion Mall in Plantation (they were the only independent family owned restaurant to participate-other participants were major chains and corporations), catered and/or provided food service for the Florida Marlins “Family Fun Fest,” “Family Sundays” and the “Citrus Series” against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, participated annually in the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life,” a 24-hour event held in Plantation and Sunrise, Florida and, participated annually as well in the “Wine, Jazz & Taste of Plantation.” La Piazza was designated the official “room-service” provider for neighboring hotels such as the AmeriSuites, LaQuinta and LaQuinta Inns & Suites, the Comfort Suites and Holiday Inn’s Staybridge Hotel. La Piazza was a very active member of the Chamber of Commerce in Plantation.

As the founding family of La Piazza and Times Square Pizza consistently delivered quality and excellence, it was afforded and given a great opportunity by The Mills Corp., a NYSE publicly held company, to enter “The Oasis” at Sawgrass Mills Mall. With great honor and pride, a lease was negotiated and consummated; Empire Pizza Café rapidly evolved and emerged.

Empire Pizza Café is a very uniquely designed New York City Soho-styled and themed fine Italian restaurant and café. Empire Pizza Café, serving only the finest in Italian and other foods, including its signature landmark “real” New York style pizza, emerged as an anchor to fine casual dining and entertainment not only to “The Oasis” at Sawgrass Mills but, to the Bank Atlantic Center, home of the Florida Panthers Hockey Club and the Regal Cinemas, where Empire Pizza Café is located respectively across from and next to.

Empire Pizza Cafe’s executive and management team consists of Eric Levy, CFP, President, Sandy Robert Levy, CPA, Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Levy, Marketing Director & Event Coordinator, Robin Dana Levy-Castillo, CC, Chief Operating Officer and Certified Culinarian and Hernan Castillo, Operations Manager (SEE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY BELOW).

The executive and management team is very “people orientated” and involve themselves and the company with neighborhood functions to better serve the community. Empire Pizza Café partakes in the following charitable events: O.J. McDuffy's Annual Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament, Neighbors for Neighbors, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and several American Cancer Society functions. Empire Pizza Café caters for events not only in the surrounding local area such as the BMW Pro Player Tennis Tournament at the Welleby Tennis Center, Temple Ramat Shalom and at Volunteer Park, but it provides such services from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale to West Palm Beach. Some of the non-local clientele are as follows: in Ft. Lauderdale - The Las Olas River House, The Las Olas Grand, The WaterGarden, The Museum of Art, Revolution, Voodoo Lounge and The Swimmers Hall of Fame; in other areas - Delray Beach Orchid Society, Tamarac Community Center and countless homes from Miami to West Palm Beach.

Empire Pizza Café is an active member of the Plantation Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant provides "room service" to 9 local area hotels in the Sunrise/Plantation area as well as catering services for corporate functions to Microsoft, Motorola, American Express, E-Funds, GL Homes, Universal, All About Staff, and many other national companies.
